On the morning of September 19, IEC held an online meeting with the University of Hawaii at Hilo to discuss matters related to the cooperation in running schools. Xing Linhong, Vice Dean of IEC, Xie Yapeng, Vice Director of the Foreign Exchange Office, Zhang Peiqing, Officer of the Foreign Exchange Office, Kong Deliang, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of College of Forestry, Kong Yuhua, Associate Professor of College of Forestry, Norman Q. Arancon, Dean of College of Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resource Management of the University of Hawaii at Hilo, Shihwu Sung, Professor of College of Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resource Management, and Todd Shumway, Director of International Cooperation Office attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Xing Linhong.

Xing Linhong briefly introduced the faculty of HAU and IEC, the history and current situation of Sino-foreign cooperative education program, etc. Kong Deliang introduced the courses and training program of the intended majors. Norman Q. Arancon introduced the basic situation of the University of Hawaii at Hilo, including the history, discipline construction, faculty, etc.

During the discussion, the two sides carried out in-depth exchanges on the specific matters of the cooperation in running schools, including transfer, articulation, exchange visits of teachers, student exchanges and so on. Both parties agreed that the cooperation, with the goal of promoting the common development of both sides, should be based on the principle of mutual benefit and win-win situation, and that they should establish a contact mechanism as soon as possible to accelerate the process of cooperation, and actively take full advantages to jointly promote the high-quality development of cooperation.

This meeting has laid a solid foundation for the two parties to further carry out cooperation in running schools. It is believed that under the joint efforts of both sides, the cooperation will achieve more fruitful results and make greater contribution to the healthy development of Chinese-foreign cooperative education programs.
